MEEF (thinking): Well, so it begins. Five months of my life to go to some backwater planet and pick up some geek and then another five months to come back.

MEEF (thinking): Well, maybe five months isn't too long to wait. After all, I am going to another planet - an alien planet with wondrous life forms and a strange and wondrous culture

MEEF (thinking): Nothing is more satisfying than delving into a rich, intricate culture. A society's views on life and art and philosophy can make the outside observer a fuller, more sensitive person... I might as well get an idea what to expect by monitoring their transmissions.
